§ 1. Boundaries.

It is further ordered, adjudged and decreed, that the boundaries of the City of Columbus, Mississippi shall be and are hereby altered and shall hereafter be as follows:

Commencing at the northeast corner of Section 16, Township 18 South, Range 18 West, Lowndes County, Mississippi; said corner being the same point more particularly described in the original Charter of Incorporation of the City of Columbus, Mississippi, dated March 12, 1884, on file in the office of the secretary-treasurer of Columbus, Mississippi; and also said corner being the southwest corner of Section 10, Township 18 South, Range 18 West, Lowndes County, Mississippi, as described in the survey notes of the original land surveys of the United States, shown on Page 82 of said survey notes, copies of which are on file in the Chancery Records Office of Lowndes County Mississippi; run thence westerly along the north line of said Section 16 to the northwest corner of said Section 16; run thence south 88 degrees 10 minutes west, 12 feet, to the Point of Beginning of the herein described area; run thence south 88 degrees 12 minutes west 1,289 feet, more or less, along the south line of Section 8, Township 18 South, Range 18 West, to the west line of the east quarter of said Section 8; run thence north 01 degree 22 minutes west 5,288 feet, more or less, along the west line of the east quarter of said Section 8 to a point on the north line of said Section 8; run thence south 87 degrees 49 minutes west 1,327 feet, more or less, along the south line of Section 5, Township 18 South, Range 18 West, to a point on the west line of the east half of said Section 5; run thence north 01 degree 24 minutes west 2,582 feet, more or less, along the west line of the east half of said Section 5 to a point on the north line of the south half of said Section 5; run thence south 88 degrees 30 minutes west 1,320 feet, more or less, along the north line of the south half of said Section 5 to a point on the east line of the west quarter of said Section 5; run thence north 01 degree 24 minutes west 2,582 feet, more or less, along the east line of the west quarter of said Section 5 to a point on the north line of said section; run thence north 32 degrees 19 minutes east 894 feet to a point on the south right-of-way line of a railroad known as the Columbus and Greenville Railroad; run thence south 57 degrees 41 minutes east 8,253 feet, more or less, along said railroad right-of-way line to the point of curvature of a circular curve to the right having the following curve data: Radius=2,967.9 feet, tangent=903.4 feet, and delta=33 degrees 51 minutes 34 seconds; run thence southeasterly along said circular curve and said railroad right-of-way line an arc distance of 1,754 feet, more or less, to a point on the north line of Section 9, Township 18 South, Range 18 West; run thence north 88 degrees 52 minutes 06 seconds east 978.34 feet, more or less, along the north line of said Section 9, Township 18 South, Range 18 West, to the northeast corner of said Section 9; run thence north 88 degrees 52 minutes 06 seconds east 5,280 feet, more or less, along the north lien of Section 10, Township 18 South, Range 18 West to the northeast corner of said Section 10; run thence north 88 degrees 52 minutes 06 seconds east 5,280 feet, more or less, along the north line of Section 11, Township 18 South, Range 18 West, to the northeast corner of said Section 11; run thence north 88 degrees 52 minutes 06 seconds east 5,280 feet, more or less, along the north line of the Section 12, Township 18 South, Range 18 West, to the northeast corner of said Section 12; run thence south 5,280 feet, more or less, to a point on the east right-of-way of Lehmberg Road being approximately 45 feet east of the southeast corner of said Section 12; run thence south 01 degree 42 minutes east 1,347 feet, along the east right-of-way of said Lehmberg Road to a point; run thence south 0 degrees 35 minutes 49 seconds east 1,015.22 feet along the east right-of-way of said Lehmberg Road to a point; run thence South 01 degree 40 minutes east 2,454 feet, along the east right-of-way of said Lehmberg Road to a point; run thence south 32 degrees 02 minutes west 89 feet along the southeast right-of-way of said Lehmberg Road to a point; run thence south 43 degrees 16 minutes west 737 feet to a point; run thence north 89 degrees 40 minutes west 510 feet to a point; run thence north 87 degrees 52 minutes west 366 feet, more or less, to a point on the south line of Section 13, Township 18 South, Range 18 West; run thence south 88 degrees 55 minutes west 581 feet along said south line of said Section 13 to a point; run thence south 01 degree 20 minutes east 3,042 feet, more or less, to a point on the north right-of-way line of a railroad known as the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad; run thence north 79 degrees 27 minutes west 9,783 feet, more or less, along said railroad right-of-way line to a point on the presently used east bank of a stream or river known as the Luxapalila Creek; run thence approximately south 25 degrees 27 minutes west 1,649 feet, more or less, along said presently used east bank of said Luxapalila Creek to a point; run thence south 88 degrees 18 minutes west 2,278 feet to a point; run thence south 02 degrees 59 minutes east 1,327 feet to a point; run thence south 89 degrees 01 minute west 3,409 feet to a point; run thence south 01 degree 03 minutes east 1,273 feet to a point; run thence south 88 degrees 29 minutes west 1,180 feet to a point; run thence south 27 degrees 59 minutes west 211 feet to a point; run thence north 40 degrees 21 minutes west 806 feet to a point; run thence north 80 degrees 21 minutes west 569 feet to a point; run thence north 54 degrees 30 minutes west 418 feet to a point; run thence south 86 degrees 51 minutes west 1,451 feet, more or less, to a point on the presently used west bank of the Tombigbee River; run thence northerly along the meanderings of said west bank of said Tombigbee River to a point which is North 11 degrees 15 minutes east 3,266 feet, more or less, from the last described point; run thence northerly along the meanderings of said west bank of said Tombigbee River to a point which is north 23 degrees 16 minutes west 2,158 feet, more or less, from the last described point; run thence north 200 feet, more or less, to a point on the east bank of said Tombigbee River; run thence north 63 degrees 18 minutes east 979 feet, more or less, to a point on the presently used west bank of a stream known as Moore's Creek; run thence approximately north 04 degrees 15 minutes east 1,560 feet, more or less, along said west bank of Moore's Creek to a point; run thence north 02 degrees 19 minutes west 2,440 feet, more or less, to the Point of Beginning of the above-described area, containing 7,282 acres, more or less.

Editor's note— The boundaries set out in § 1 have been taken from an ordinance adopted December 5, 1978, ratified, affirmed and approved by a chancery court decree of April 24, 1979, which sets out the city limits in full.
